2024 Roadwork/Sewer Update

Here’s an update on the Metropolitan Council sanitary sewer project on Shoreline Drive (to include W Arm Rd prior to the railroad bridge).

You can also click on the two links below for more complete updates that will be kept current during the project. The work on W Arm Rd is set to start next week. We are going to have access during the project except for occasional short blockage for things like unloading a truck etc, but overall full access.

The work will begin the week of June 17th for appx 6 weeks. At that time, they will move to the other side of the channel for work along the trail. At the end of the project for this year, the Shoreline Dr work is expected to be complete in September, at which time they will return to W Arm Rd and then finish up remaining work in Sep-Oct. During the majority of the summer, the plan is to not have construction ongoing on W Arm Rd except at the beginning and end of the summer as mentioned above. That is the current overall and expected timeline (although always may change if setbacks occur).

This is a county project and the City has no participation or control/management. If issues, please contact the county via their webpage below.

Shoreline Drive sanitary sewer replacement update

Construction activities at both project sites along Shoreline Drive are expected to begin the week of June 17. Neighbors may experience noise and dust during excavation and drilling.

At site one (Shoreline Dr in Mound near Caribou), crews will bring in equipment to prepare for site excavation and begin removing the road surface.

At site two (W Arm Rd), crews will drill the entrance and exit pits necessary to replace the old portion of pipe using a pipe bursting method.

Shoreline Drive detour and lane shifts begin June 17

Shoreline Drive will be closed to through traffic beginning June 17 from Commerce Boulevard to Wilshire Boulevard. A signed detour will direct traffic via Commerce Boulevard, Highway 125 and Wilshire Boulevard. Business and residential access will be maintained, including access to the Mound Transit Center.

Please plan ahead for traffic backups and drive safely in the construction area. The detour and lane closures are expected to be in place for approximately eight weeks through mid-August.

Additionally, all traffic will be shifted to the south side of Shoreline Drive from Montclair Lane to West Arm Road. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction. Business and residential access will be maintained.
